Renowned German house producer Kris Menace treats your ears to an exclusive DJ mix this week. Menace (Christopher Höffel) has been writing and releasing tracks since the mid-nineties and has now built himself a reputation as an esteemed electronic musician and remixer. His mix is, quite simply, a masterclass in house music: acid house, bleep, euphoric, Chicago, electro, tech-house – it’s all there and it’s all done superbly. There’s also a particular focus on the French house scene which Menace himself has been instrumental in shaping. Artists featured in the mix include Claude Von Stroke, Sascha Funke, Black Meteroic Star, Floating Points and Richardo Tobar. As well as producing his own tracks, Menace has also found the time to start and run two record labels – Compuphonic and Work It Baby. The latter of these began as a way of releasing tracks for friends and has now grown into one of the most successful – and one of the few remaining – French house labels.
